These are very difficult times we are living through at the moment, many of us can feel isolated in our own homes, especially those living alone.. One way that has helped the members of the Cafffeine Club is that we manage to keep in touch with each other now that we cannot meet in the Wise Man on a Tuesday morning, is to e mail each other and just chat about what we have been doing, we spent quite a bit of time discussing Covid and hoping to have the vaccine, now thankfully most of us have been vaccinated and feel we can now see the light at the end of the tunnel.
On a lighter note, it is lovely to hear what people are planning to plant in their gardens, or the improvements they are making to their homes, what delights have been cooked up for supper, how many jigsaw puzzles have been completed, I love to do Code Words and Cross Words (easy ones) I try desperately to do Sudoku but fail miserably.
Yesterday Gordon and myself went for a walk along the promenade by the Oasis in Weymouth, it was freezing, a bitter cold wind blew us along, then when we turned round to come back again, we had to put our heads down, and cover our faces, our masks helped tremendously. we felt invigorated and great when we got back to the car and had a cup of hot coffee from my flask.. We do try to go for a walk most days, it is so good to get out of the house and actually see other human being and to be able to talk to them - keeping our distance of course. I lose myself in my Attelier (that does sound grand my small studio) and paint away merrily until my family decide they need feeding. We all have our own stories to tell, I hope other members of the club will write up pieces for us all to enjoy. Maureen Shaw
